About This Site

This site is the fictional Web site of the terrorist organization, Americans for Economic Inequality, that appears in my book It Could Happen Here: America on the Brink.

The site is designed to serve several purposes:

• The fictional opening of the book is intended to show, through narrative, how a series of cascading events could —in an extreme scenario–lead to the collpase of our form of government. This site provides additional detail on the potential motivations of the AEE and the story behind the formation of this fictional organization.
• Second, the site is designed to further show how a scenario involving American-born terrorists–who attempt to educate the nation about inequality–might operate. In the book’s fictional scenario, the terrorists communicate with America through a Web site. This site is meant to give a realistic flavor to this hypothetical scenario.
• Finally, the articles and videos on this site are intended to serve as educational resources for anyone interested in economic inequality. A larger collection of resources will soon be available at the book’s official website It Could Happen Here.com.

I would like to repeat a point that is made throughout the book: Niether It Could Happen Here or this Web site are meant to serve as a "call" to revolution, violence or any type of insurrection.  My central message is that, as a nation, we are at a dangerous moment in history. These materials have been created as a wake-up not as a prediction. They were created to prevent, not support, the activities discussed here.
